I was gifted an MB 144 fountain pen with a cap marked 'Pix' and thought, understandably, that someone had substituted the cap of a rollerball by mistake. For Montblanc to have begun using the term on their fountain pen caps was patently silly and confusing.

Both 146 and 149 can't use one so they can't be it. However it looks like a Meisterstuck 144 (classicue) or 145 (chopin) since you mention the cartrige/ converter. Looking at the picture, I can't really say if its gold or platina. It can use a cartrige or its mb converter. The nib's engraving says 4810, 14k and some other small 3 digit number starting with 5.
